Hamilton takes pole in Canada
12 Jun 2010 | admin
After a great weekend of free practice in Canada for the Mclaren’s the great work finally pays off after an amazing qualifying session. The suprise of the weekend was to see Michael Schumacher go out of qualifying in session 2. The 7 times World Champion yet again is beaten by his team mate Nico Rosberg, with Schumacher starting in 13th and Rosberg in 10th.
The Redbulls were knocked off pole position for the first time this season with a fantastic lap from Lewis Hamilton. The current drivers championship leader put in a great lap of 1:15.373, which was surely to clinch the pole position, with just 1 minute remaining of qualifying session 3 Lewis Hamilton makes his final lap.
The previous British World Champion, Lewis Hamilton started his final lap with the Redbulls in 1st and 2nd (Webber 1st, Vettel 2nd) and was lighting up the screens with fastest sector times. We jump on board with Hamilton’s car as he drives at 200mph down Pont De La Con Corde, Hamilton hits the breaks and throws the car into the corner, this is looking like a pole position can Hamilton take the Redbull’s off pole? Hamilton gets on the throttle as he approaches L’Epingle, the car is dropped into to third gear. Hamilton get’s a great run out of the corner as he charges down to the start finished line! The screen light’s up the screen with 1:15.105, what a lap from Hamilton! Great so see a Mclaren on pole this season.
